Paranormal Comedy

Mike Brody didn't become a “paranormal comedian” overnight. Years of sleeping with the covers over his head as a child due to viewing “The Exorcist” and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” at an impressionable age instilled him with a life-long fascination. For much of Brody's life, he consumed books on ghosts, aliens, cryptozoology and anything else paranormal or otherworldly. So it was a natural progression when these sort of topics began seeping their way into his act

A few years ago, Brody began sending video clips of his ghostly jokes to various paranormal groups, thinking at best that he'd get to do a Christmas party for the Wisconsin Paranormal Society. Instead, Amy Bruni, star of the SyFy Channel's TV show “Ghost Hunters” contacted him about doing a full set of paranormal material to kick-off their event at the luxurious Mt. Washington Resort in New Hampshire. Brody accepted and the show was a resounding success. Since that time, Brody has been hired to be the “Official Comedian of Beyond Reality Events” - the company that organizes all of the Ghost Hunter's conferences. Now he performs regularly for Beyond Reality in front of hundreds of ghost enthusiasts at various haunted locations across the country. He also co-hosts the events as well as the charity auctions with author Jeff Belanger. This lead to further doors opening, such as writing a monthly humor column for Belanger's website Ghostvillage.com (the #1 ghost-related webpage on the Internet according to Google and Yahoo) entitled “Confessions of a Novice Ghost Hunter”. Brody has now had the opportunity to investigate numerous famous locations such as The Stanley Hotel (which inspired “The Shining”), Alcatraz Prison (where he got to sleep overnight in a cell), Salem, MA, and the Lizzy Borden House. Many more locations are set to come like the infamous Eastern State Penitentiary, Cooperstown, NY, (home of the Baseball Hall of Fame) and repeat visits to Mt. Washington Resort.
